Mr. George Bradshaw

Mr. Bradshaw, a graduate of Eastern York High School, obtained his Bachelor's of Music in Music Educationdegree from Mansfield University. While at Mansfield he studied trumpet under Dr. Michael Galloway and wind conducting under Mr. Donald Stanley. In 2002 Mr. Bradshaw obtained a Master's in Music Education from Duquesne University.

He began teaching in Virginia as an elementary general music specialist where he started the 5th and 6th grade choirs. Mr. Bradshaw left Virginia for Dover, Pennsylvania, where he accepted the position of middle school band director.

Currently he is the Dover Area High School Director of Bands and the Fine Arts Department Chairperson. His duties include teaching the two concert bands, the two jazz bands, the award winning "EAGLE"  marching band, pit orchestra, pep band, lessons and various small ensembles, as well as music classes and sectionals.  There are currently 165 students enrolled in the instrumental music program at DAHS.

In his spare time, Mr. Bradshaw conducts the Columbia VFW Concert Band. This is a community band of nearly 50 musicians from the ages of 15-84. They perform approximately 25 concerts annually. For 10  ears he was one of the directors for the Pennsylvania Ambassadors of Music Jazz Band, a select group of students who perform throughout the United Kingdon and Europe.  He is currently associated with Young Musicians Abroad and will be traveling to Europe this summer on an 11-day concert tour.

In 2003, Mr. Bradshaw was nominated for the DisneyHand Award.  He has been selected to Who's Who Among America's High School Teachers in 1996, 2002, 2003 and 2005.  In 1999 he was awarded the Outstanding Young Pennsylvanian Award by the PA Jaycees for his work in education. Also in that  year his article, A Positive Enhancement for Bands, was published in Fanfare magazine. 

Currently, Mr. Bradshaw lives in York with his wife Kathy and daughters Julia and Clara.
