Our Director

Mr. George Bradshaw

Mr. Bradshaw, a graduate of Eastern York High School, obtained his Bachelor's of Music in Music Educationdegree from Mansfield University. While at Mansfield he studied trumpet under Dr. Michael Galloway and wind conducting under Mr. Donald Stanley. In 2002 Mr. Bradshaw obtained a Master's in Music Education from Duquesne University.

He began teaching in Virginia as an elementary general music specialist where he started the 5th and 6th grade choirs. Mr. Bradshaw left Virginia for Dover, Pennsylvania, where he accepted the position of middle school band director.

Currently he is the Dover Area High School Director of Bands and the Fine Arts Department Chairperson. His duties include teaching the two concert bands, the two jazz bands, the award winning "EAGLE"  marching band, pit orchestra, pep band, lessons and various small ensembles, as well as music classes and sectionals.  There are currently 165 students enrolled in the instrumental music program at DAHS.

In his spare time, Mr. Bradshaw conducts the Columbia VFW Concert Band. This is a community band of nearly 50 musicians from the ages of 15-84. They perform approximately 25 concerts annually. For 10  ears he was one of the directors for the Pennsylvania Ambassadors of Music Jazz Band, a select group of students who perform throughout the United Kingdon and Europe.  He is currently associated with Young Musicians Abroad and will be traveling to Europe this summer on an 11-day concert tour.

In 2003, Mr. Bradshaw was nominated for the DisneyHand Award.  He has been selected to Who's Who Among America's High School Teachers in 1996, 2002, 2003 and 2005.  In 1999 he was awarded the Outstanding Young Pennsylvanian Award by the PA Jaycees for his work in education. Also in that  year his article, A Positive Enhancement for Bands, was published in Fanfare magazine. 

Currently, Mr. Bradshaw lives in York with his wife Kathy and daughters Julia and Clara.

Assistant Director

Timothy A. Bupp MM.MEd

Mr. Bupp has taught at every level of the public school system is currently on the music faculty with the Spring Grove Area School District where he serves as Director of Bands for students in 4th-6th grade and directs and directs the award winning percussion ensemble. Prior to his appointment at Spring Grove, Mr. Bupp was Director of Bands at Steelton-Highspire High School in Steelton, PA. During his tenure at Steelton-Highspire, Mr. Bupp directed the concert band, jazz band, marching band, instructed lesson groups, supervised the music independent study program, and was credited with revitalizing the band program into one of the fastest growing organizations in the district. Mr. Bupp is also Music Arranger and Percussion Director for the award winning Dover Area High School “Eagle” Marching Band. In addition to his teaching duties, Mr. Bupp operates an active private percussion studio and services local school districts and percussionist with their percussion repair needs.

Mr. Bupp holds degrees from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania (BM.ME) and Boston University (MM.ME). He is  currently pursuing music supervisory certification through Duquesne University. Mr. Bupp studied wind conducting
with Dr. Adam F. Brennan Dr. Robert Cameron and H. Robert Reynolds. Percussion teachers include Conrad Alexander and Jamie Ryan with participation in master classes under Peyton MacDonald and She-E-Wu.

As a composer/arranger, Mr. Bupp’s compositions are increasing in demand with commissions and arrangements scheduled through 2013. His compositions and arrangements have been performed across the continental United States and Hawaii.

Mr. Bupp currently serves as the Assistant Director and percussionist with the Twinrose Community Band. As the band's resident arranger he provides arrangements of music from marches to popular music and everything in between.
